Notes for Margaret Alma Easterwood
Information below from her grandson, Jesse Floyd:
A good Christian woman and fine mother. When her father died, being theoldest, she had to drop out of school and help on the farm so she didn'thave much education. She died of cancer and apparently suffered from itfor a long time. My father, was the youngest and dropped out of theeighth grade to care for her. According to Opal and her brother Billy,Turner's family lived close to Grandpa and Grandma Floyd and GrandmaFloyd would watch Opal and Billy. Opal would play on grandma's bed whileBilly was put out on the porch where he stayed all day while my Dadworked the garden and took care of grandma.
My dad dearly loved his mother. He was proud of the fact that he gaveher blood through a transfusion before she died. I believe it isthrough this bond that my dad was given the wallet of grandma'sgrandfather, James P. Wofford.
She was short, about 5 feet tall with black hair and brown eyes.
