After 1807 Thomas 2nd and Elizabeth moved to Standen Farm, the Home Farm of Standen Manor, near Hungerford, Berks, occupied at the time by the Goddard family.
In 1808 Thomas 2nd died, unexpectedly, from a fall from his horse, at Standen, but was buried in Wroughton churchyard.
He had not made a will, so Elizabeth applied for Letters of Administration and then put everything in Trust for her children. The Trustees were her brother, Matthew Vivash jr, and her brothers-in-law, Richard Evans and John Washbourn. She continued to live at Standen Farm and raise her young family until they had all married and started families of their own, except the youngest daughter, Mary, who never married.
