The Will of Robert Titt of Wylye 1846

This is the Last Will and Testament of me Robert Titt ofthe Parish o f Wiley in the County of Wilts Yeoman asfollows. I hereby appo int William Fidler of Wileyaforesaid Miller and Cornelius Giles of t he same placeInnkeeper Executors and Trustees of this my Will .I direct that all my Just Debts Funeral and Testamentary Expenses be first paid off and discharged by my saidExecutors and Trus tees.
I give devise and bequeath unto my said Executors All andevery my Re al and Personal Estate of every description orwheresoever situate T o hold the same to them and to theSurvivor of them his Executors o r Administratorsabsolutely but upon the Trusts following that is t o sayUpon Trust to allow my dear Wife Lydia Titt to occupy mysaid R eal Estate and to use all my Household Goods andFurniture during
her natural Life or to let the same for the most Money orbest Rent w hich can be obtained for such Real Estate andto pay over the Rent an d proceeds thereof to my said wifeas the same becomes due and shall
be received for her Life. And from and immediately afterthe deceas e of my said Wife I hereby Give devise andbequeath unto my Son Steph en Titt my Estate called Steelesconsisting of a House and Lands at W iley aforesaid and theStock of all Kinds thereon if the same can b e preserveduntil the decease of my said Wife who is to have libert yto change and alter the same at her pleasure during herlife without
lessening the Value thereof more than can be possiblyavoided.
To hold my said Real Estate unto my said Son Stephen Titthis Heirs a nd Assigns for ever.
I give and Bequeath unto my daughters Emma Titt andElizabeth Titt th e sum of Fifty pounds each payable assoon as can be after the deceas e of my said Wife and Icharge my said Real Estate with the payment t hereof and incase either of my said daughters shall die before suc hLegacies become payable without leaving any lawful issueThen I Giv e and bequeath the legacy of the one so dyingunto the survivor of th em and direct the same to be paidaccordingly. And from and afte r the decease of my saidWife my Will is and I hereby Give and bequea th All myHousehold Goods and Furniture Plate Linen and China unto my said Son and Daughters equally to be divided between themshare an d share alike And as to all the Rest Residue andRemainder of my Esta te and Effects not herein specificallydisposed of I give and Bequeat h the same
unto my said Wife for her Life and after her decease I givedevise an d bequeath the same unto such of my said threechildren as shall be l iving at the death of my said Wifein equal proportions. And I
hereby revoke and make Void all and every other Will andWills by m e at anytime heretofore made. In Witness hereofI have hereunto se t my Hand and affixed my Seal thisTwenty fifth day of May One thousa nd eight hundred andforty six.
