Reginald entered the Royal Navy and fought in the battle ofJutland o n the King's Flagship under Admiral Jellicoe. Theship was called HM S Marlborough and at the time was thepride of the British Fleet. I t was manned by, what theBritish Forces call, 'chosen men'. The entr y age for theNavy was 16, so we presume he joined in 1914. This woul dhave given him the time to neccessary to be promoted toBattleship/ Flagship standards. It is known that hisfather, John, died before h e entered the Navy, and thatwould suggest he was killed prior to 191 4.
