In the 1861 census, Joseph was recorded as being a masterblacksmith , and being
36 years old. He was born in Ogborn St Andrew.
1881 census Joseph was noted living in Ogborn St Andrew,where presum ably he
ran a blacksmith's shop.
An entry in the Kelly's Post Office Directory reads:-
Casswell J Rockley, Ogbourne St Andrew. Blacksmith andfarrier.
