Information from Jesse Floyd, January 2002:
John immigrated to Boston, ma in 1633. He and his second wife broughtthree young children, the oldest being John, who was thirteen at thetime. The father was a store keeper by trade and set up a prosperousretail mercantile business in Boston at the time of his arrival in theNew World. Between the age of 17 and 25, his son John made several tripsto the Colonies of Virginia and North Carolina, one in a particular ship,the Endever, which he rented from Joseph Grafton of Salem, MA (?), tobring his father's merchandise to the Southern Colonies. During thistime, John (Jr.) became known as a surgeon and retained the title afterhe moved to the Virginia Colonies.
