In footnote of (1:501, it is reported that Dugdale in History of St. Pauls states that this family is descended from ancient family of Baskervilles in Hertfordshire.
Sheila Jewell [7]: '... a small book in the Westcountry Studies Library at Exeter entitled 'Thomas Baskerville, Elizabethan Apothecary of Exeter' describes how John, father of Thomas, came from Hereford in the early 1500s.1
