Notes for Frederick Isaac Titt
According to Barbara Fink's note, this gentleman's name wasFrederick , not
Francis as previously recorded. I have ammended the recordin Barbara 's favor,
as it is her line.

Frederick was a yeoman when he married but a cabinet makerwhen Maria n was born
in Nov 1876, in Lambeth, Surrey.

In 1889 Frederick his wife, Mary Ann Aplin and twochildren, Marian E liza
Buckeridge Titt and William Aplin Titt came to UnitedStates. They we nt
directly to Salt Lake City, UT. They traveled with anotherfamily fro m England
named Fessler. They worked in Salt Lake City. Mr. Titt wasa cabine t maker and
Mr. Fessler a stone mason. We do not think they wererelated. They we re
supposed to be working on the Morman Temple in Salt LakeCity but I d on't know
if that is true or not.

In 1900 they are in Santa Barbara, CA and Frederick isbuilding cabin ets for
steam ships. He also built the cabinet for the first X-RAYmachines.

In 1903 I find them in San Francisco where they lived untiltheir dea ths. He
and his wife operated a boarding house. They had the oldSprekles Man sion near
Van Ness and Pacifica. Frederick had a cabinet shop and hisson was i n partners
with him when he was old enough.

They lived there during the earthquake in 1906. They stayedafter the
earthquake but most people left and their daughter and sonin law lef t for Los
Angeles where they made their home.
