THE WILL of Mary Wallis, Widow Deceased. THIS WILL was proved at Sarum on the 18th day of February, 1845 before the Rev. George Lewes Benson Clerk L.L.B. lawful Surre of the Revd. and Worshipful Francis Lear Clerk B.D. Archdeaconry of the Archory of Sarum and by him, Administration of all and singular the Goods and Chattels of the said Deceased, and any ways concerning her Will was committed unto Mark Wallis one of the joint Exors named in the said Will the like power being reserved to Thomas Wallis the other Executor also named therein (being first duly Sworn of the truth of the said Will, and faithfully to perform the same, and to pay the Deceased’s Debts and Legacies as far forth as her Goods and Chattels will thereto extend and the Law bind him, and to exhibit a true and perfect Inventory of the Goods, Chattels, and Credits of the Deceased, and yield a just and true Account when lawfully required.) Saving the Rights of all Persons.

I Mary Wallis widdow of the parish of Chittern St. Mary do on this 28th day of January in the year of our Lord on thousand eight hundred and forty three make this my last will and testament in manner and form following.
To my son Isaac Wallis I give the sum of forty pounds.
I have done all I can to provide for my son William Wallis.
To my daughter Eliza now Mrs. Titt I give the sum of forty pounds and all my wearing Apparel.
To my son John B. Wallis I give the sum of sixty pounds.
To my son Gabriel Wallis I give the sum of sixty pounds.
To my son George Wallis I give the sum of forty pounds.
To my son Mark Wallis I give the sum of fifty pounds.
To my son Thomas Wallis I give the sum of fifty pounds.
To Mrs. William Wallis I give my best table cloth and one ring, in memory of T. Jennings, which I wish her to keep for my sake.
To my son Thomas Wallis I give the ring with his father’s hair and name in it.
To my son Isaac Wallis I give my wedding ring.
My silver spoons and household linnin I would wish my children to part in equal parts between them,
My furniture to be sold and when every thing is made the best of and all of my just debts paid the remainder to be equally divided among my children.
To appoint My sons Mark and Thomas Wallis my executors but if my son Thomas be not in England my son Mark Wallis to act alone.

Appeared personally Mary Grant of Chitterne All Saints in the County of Wilts Spinster one of the attesting Witnesses to the last Will and Testament of Mary Wallis late of Chitterne Saint Mary in the same county deceased bearing date the twenty eighth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three and hereunto annexed and made Oath that the said Will was signed at the end thereof by the said Mary Wallis as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of her the appearer and of John Grant being present at the same time and the said Mary Grant further made Oath that she the appearer and the said John Grant did attest and subscribe the said Will in the presence of the said Testator as the same now appears.

At Sarum on the eighteenth day of February 1845 Mary Grant abovesaid was duly sworn before me____

A pier glass is a tall narrow mirror, usually one of a set, designed to hang on the wall between windows, usually above a pier table. A Brussels carpet is made of worsted wool with a heavy pile of uncut loops on a linen warp. A Pembroke table is a small table with drop leaves and often one or more drawers. A tun is a large cask for beer. An Italian iron is for fluting frills.
