As a young girl, aged about 8, Dinah was locked in acupboard by he r school
teacher, for some misdemeanor. The teacher forgot abouther. A searc h was
conducted, but she was not found until late into theevening.The trau matic
shock affected her so much that she stopped growing.
I think it is worth pointing out here that the WiltshireEducation De partment
had many such stories of abuse of children, which was stillgoing o n in my
childhood (1950-1965). Caning of boys was a regularoccurrance, wit h very
little justice. Numerous teachers were sadistic andactually enjoye d the misery
they administered.
