1881 census records William as being 2 yrs old, a"((Scholar))" and l iving with
his parents in Highworth. There seems to be a humourist inthe family!
Hi Mike, yes my grandfather was William J Caswell born in 1878 in Highworth,I was in contact with you a few years ago, I think it was in 1999, I went toEngland that year and my sister and I went to Caswell farm, the owner wasvery nice and let us look at the old remains of the castle.I have recently found some first cousins that live in the Coventry area, they are my Mums sisters daughters. Their Mum is Mary Caswell, she would ofbeen born about 1910, because she was a lot older than my Mum. My Mum wasborn in 1923, I cant' find my Grandmothers name, I will ask my sister tosend it to me, she told it to me once before and I never got around toentering it on my tree, now I have lost it.My Mum had a lot of sisters that we don't even know the names of because shewas second last to be born, out of 12 girls and 1 boy, so the oldest sistershad already left home when she was born, I know there was one named Elsiewho went to London and was taken into service when she was 13 or 14, as faras I know she never married.I hope you are keeping well, nice to hear from you again. If I can get anymore info I will let you know. If you know of any more of my relatives Iwould love to hear about them.Take care, Gillian.----- Original Message ----- From: <
