Letter from Peter Horton (Geneology researcher in Salisbury) says, " I found the
burial of Joseph Caswell, aged 60, on the 27th Nov 1822".
On the gravestone in Avebury churchyard, Joseph's inscription says:-
Sacred to the memory of Joseph Caswell who departed this life Nov 22 1822 aged 60 years.
Also of Sarah daughter of Jonathan and Elizabeth who died 2? 1822 aged 2 y 3 m.
According to Iris Mildenhall's note, Joseph, blacksmith, owned a free hold house and land at Avebury, occupied by himself.
