The will of Samuel Baskerville

In the name of God, Amen. The twelfth day of December in the third year of the reign of our soveriegn lord George by the grace of God of Great Britain France and Irelend King defender of the faith ye anno dom 1716. I Samuel Baskerville of Malmesbury in the county of Wilts, yeoman minding the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time do make this my last will and testament as followeth. That is to say, first I bequeath my soul unto the hands of Almighty God my creator hoping hereinafter to have a joyful ressurection, andmy body to the earth from whence it was taken to be buried in a decent manner. As for my worldly estate which the Lord hath lent me, I dispose of as followeth. Im Primis Item I give and bequeath unto my cousin John Baskerville the sum of one shilling. I give and bequeath unto my cousin Rebecka Robins the sum of one shilling. Item I give and bequeath unto my cousin Thomas Baskerville of London the sum of one shilling.Item I give and bequeath unto my cousin James Baskerville of Calne the sum of one shilling.Item I give and bequeath unto my cousin Ezekiel Baskerville of Burton Hill the sum of one shilling. Item I give and bequeath unto my cousin Elizabeth Baskerville of Burton Hill the sum of one shilling. Item I give and bequeath unto my cousin Mary Baskerville daughter of Francis Baskerville the sum of one shilling in consideration of her attendance on me in my illness.
Item I give and bequeath unto my brother John Baskerville the sum of ten shillings for drawing of my will at several times, and my will is that all these particular legacies be paid in three months after my decease. Item I give and bequeath unto my brother Francis Baskerville all the right title and interest that I have in the messuage and grounds lying in Burnifill in the parish of Westport. Item I give and bequeath unto my brother Francis Baskerville all the rite title and interest that I have in that leasehold estate or ground called Deadman for and during all that time and tenure that is yet to come and unexpired. Item I give and bequeath unto my said brother Francis Baskerville the sum of three pounds yearly to be paid him by my brother Thomas Baskerville out of Wineys Hill without any deduction of payments during all that time and tenure that is yet to come upon the lease of it and unexpired.
Item I give and bequeath unto my brother Thomas Baskerville all the rite title and interest that I have in WIneys Hill during all that term that is yet to come and unexpired he paying out of it the aforesaid legacies. Item I give and bequeath unto my cousin Mary Baskerville daughter of Francis Baskerville the sum of ten pounds to be paid out of my freehold estate called Windons by my executors hereinafter named the said legacy to be paid within two years after my decease. Item I give and bequeath unto my brother John Baskerville the sum of ten pounds to be paid out of the WIndons by my executors within two years after my decease. Item I give and bequeath unto my two brother Thomas and Francis Baskerville my free hold estate being two grounds called Windons lying and being in Burton Hill in the Parish of Malmesbury to hold them and their heirs and assigns for ever.(equally to be divided) Immediately from and after my decease they paying out of my land all my debts and funeral expenses but especially all bonds within three months after my decease and the legacies as is before expressed. Item all the rest of my goods chattels and cattle unbequeathed I give and bequeath unto my said two brothers Thomas and Francis Baskerville equally to be divided whome I do consitute and appoint my full whole and sole executors of this my last will and Testament and I do hereby revoke and make void all former wills by me made acknowledging this to be my last in witness whereof I have herunto set my hand ans sealthe day and year first above written.
